Electroencephalogram (EEG)
An Electroencephalogram, or EEG, records the electrical activity of the brain. This is done through the use of small discs, or electrodes, that record the activity. These electrodes are attached to a patient’s scalp using a special paste.
If needed, the patient may be asked to breathe deeply, look at bright flashing lights intermittently to help in diagnosing a patient’s condition.
An EEG helps the doctor assess brain activity and determine the most appropriate treatment needed.
